Chess competition at Westberry School, Bhimavaram

                 Chess is a board game for two players. It is played in a square board, made of 64 smaller squares, with eight squares on each side.  Each player starts with sixteen pieces: eight pawns, two knights, two bishops, two rooks,one queen and one king.Chess is believed to have originated in India sometime before the 7th century. The game was derived from the Indian game chaturanga,which is also the likely ancestor of the Eastern strategy games xiangqi, janggi, and shogi. chess is believed to be most played game in our Ancient era. In the present scenario most of the competitions are conducted on this Chess.

              As a part of this, a Mega competition is held by Bhimavaram chess Association, is organising schools Individual Chess Championship for age under- 6,8,10,12,14,16 Boys & Girls on 2nd December 2018(Sunday) starting from 9AM at WestBerry School, Bhimavaram. for more details
