Titli Cyclone Hits Hard in Srikakulam District

          Cyclone Titli which caused tension among the Andhra Pradesh administration and people of north Andhra Region had caused a severe damage in srikakulam district although IMD and officials anticipated devastation. The Cyclone has hovered between Gopalpur of Odisha and Kalingapatnam of A.P, there is a moderate rainfall around some places. With the impact of rains and gales, the coconut crops have damaged in some mandals. Trees have fallen down in Tekkali Region.

 

           It had been the severe storm and centered about 320km of southeast Gopalpur(Odisha) ,and 270km of southeast Kalingapatnam(A.P).Around 3 lakh people have been evacuated to the safer places,Moreover the center has rushed 1,000 NDRF personnel, to the states of A.P, and odisha. directions have been issued for storage of food, fuel and maintaing power supplyand telecommunication lines. During this time of cyclone, the State as well as Central governments responded immediately, about the safety of people.

 

         According to sources from officials 2,06,201 farmers suffered crop loss in the Titli cyclone and 91,000 hectors suffered damage due to this cyclone and nearly 2,000 villages are facing power issues.
